Have five acres in SC that I will live on and keep about an acre in grass, an acre in garden, an acre or two for a small orchard and keep an acre uncleared. Have been considering the 2210 with a loader, pull behind mower and plow.

I could use some advice from those who own this machine. Is it a good buy? Does it have enough power, etc.

Thanks,

Tom

I am not really the right person to answer this as I have not looked at the tractor yet. I would think that you would like something that provides you a little more flexibility.
PTO HP is only 17.7 and I made the same mistake with my first CUT. It is a little light for heavy grass and will not spin any thing more than a 4ft rotory cutter. Your rear tread is likely wider than that so it is difficult to pick up and provide a good cut. There are few accessories and no post hole digger.
The tractor sits a little low to be able to run all 3 pt attachments. I would be worried about the low ground clearance as snow or a little mud could easily have you dragging bottom.
Looking at the specs I think the tractor is just the 755 brought back with a slightly smaller engine and smaller tires.
I would look for something that has a PTO HP of at least 20 HP. In the Deere like this puts you in the 4115. From what I am aware it is a similar price.
There are a number of other makes that would provide a similar size and price. ....

Unless you are going to be cutting the grass and a little loader work then a 2210 would be fine. But if you are going to do more try a 4110 or 4115. The price differents isn't that much. But then you know for a little more you could have a 4210 and a little more a 4310. Just watch yourself or you'll come home with a fully loader 4710 or 5220. I have seen it done. But to me a 2210 is just a X585 on a different frame. So it a garden tractor not a compact. ....

The 2210 although tagged a sub-compact by it's maker is actually closer in size to the compact B-series in Kubota being much the same size as the B-7510 as far as height and length. Part of the reason for the Sub-compact design was to replace garden tractors with a four wheel drive unit that would still be versatile enough for the five to ten acre home owner and give them all the features and longevity of a full size compact. ....

I've owned a 4700 for 3+yrs now. Very pleased with it. It's just too big for some landscaping jobs though, looked at and bought a 2210. I have a number of complaints but none that would keep me from buying it again.

My list of (-); op presence with seat AND PTO. (You can get off the machine with it running (I disabled). Also disabled neutral start only. Let me be clear, I don't recommend doing this for ANYONE. No right/left brake. MUST use a ballast box with loader. Super pain to drain hydr. fluid. Fuel tank tool small. 3 point lift adjustments are a total pain (in/out), MUST get a quick hitch. Get chains with turf tires even for summer use if ground is slippery. More oriented to consumer than professional market.

on the (+) side: excellent power for such small chassis, I use a 72" 3pt finish mower with no problem. Gets in TIGHT spaces. Good turn radius. Of course well built. Decent lift height on loader, excellent lift capacity. Same mounts as any JD CUT bucket. 4WD a must with loader.

All in all, in spite of shortcomings, I love mine. Hope this helps. ....

I have to say I did seriously consider this model. You get allot of the tractor features in a small package, but what finally had me step up was the limited Cat 1. There are attachments that you either can not get or have to get special i.e. post hole digger with shorter arm, due to the hieght limititations on the 3ph. Also limited on Tires, it was turf or a bar ag, which for all intensive purposes is rather agressive tread for this size tractor. For the price to step up to a full Cat1 just made more sense for my needs. If it were not for the horses/pasture/ Honey do list. I would definitely look again ....

You will be fine with a 2210 for your property and maintenance work. The engine displacement between the two is identical and you will pay between $2,000 and $3,000 more for a similarly equipped 4110. Your next step up to a 4110 gains you stronger/faster hydraulics, greater weight and stability, better functions(position control) and height with the 3PH, bigger tires and wheels, and a more comfortable seat suspension.
